Basecamp: Hyatt Place LAX / El Segundo

Monday

• Culinary Arts: Artists will learn the basics of preparing a small meal. It could be breakfast, appetizers, or hors d'oeuvres. If time allows, there will also be an overview of table etiquette for different meals and occasions. 

• Voice Over: Artists will record a voice of their choice with instructions and patient guidance from a professional sound engineer. Some artists choose to record a song, while others opt for a scripted role or animated character.

Tuesday

• Driver + Fire Safety Training
• CPR + EMS Training

Day 2 is all about safety and real-life skills! Artists will train with the local police and fire department to practice interations with first responders. Depending on the schedule, there may be driver training practice or preparation to take the state's driver's permit test.

Artists will have fun will learning through mock scenarios and role play exercises.

Wednesday

• Content Creation + Video Editing: Artists will discover the fun things they can with a smartphone to create professional-level content. Learn different angles, settings, and transitions for putting together content, music, and video. Make Instagram reels, YouTube videos, and see how fun iMovie is. 

• Bowling: Social skills galore! :-) 

This is our most popular day and one that our artists rave about!

Thursday

• Graphic Design: Artists, this is your time to shine! Together, we'll make flyers, logos, and design a t-shirt. If time allows, we'll also cover online advertising. 

• Special FX Makeup: Artists will get to experience prosthetics and 3D makeup. It will feel like being on a movie set and making special effects come to life. 

Friday

• Underwater Photography: In a safe and comfortable environment, artists will learn the elements of what it takes to capture moving and still images parts underwater.

• Film Production: Recreate scenes from your favorite movie or write and star in whatever your imagination comes up with. 

Saturday

• Custom Art Creation: Explore various art media, including drawing, acrylic paint, or charcoal. We may also attempt physical creations like pottery. Artists will have a tangible asset to take home and cherish.

• Driver's Permit Test: An instructor will review the requirements for getting a driver's permit in California. We will also review the questions that appear on the test, so that artists can prepare for success.
